A sofa in black full-grain calf, made entirely by hand in Italy: the frame, the upholstery and the finishing, by the same ateliers that make our trunks. The form is architectural, with wide arms, a low profile and deep seats. The body is pebbled calf, dense enough to keep its structure and to gain character rather than lose it. The cushions are nubuck, the same hide buffed to a fine nap, so the contrast is felt more than seen.

Details
The exterior is pebbled full-grain calf leather, chosen for a dense grain that keeps its structure as it softens with use. The cushions are cut from the same hide and buffed to nubuck, so they sit as a quieter surface against the pebbled body. Because no two hides are alike, panels are matched for grain and tone by hand before they are cut. Frame, upholstery and finishing are all done in the same Italian atelier. Our calf leather is responsibly sourced from local Italian farms, repurposing byproducts of the meat industry.

Made to order and personalisation
Pieces in stock leave within days. Made to order, leather goods and boxes take 4–6 weeks; furniture 1–2 months.
Initials or a monogram can be hot-stamped in gold, silver or blind. A different leather, colour or lining can be made to order; nothing is cut until you have approved it. How a commission works.
Repairs
Whatever we make, we repair. Send a photograph and we quote before any work begins.
Care
A dry cloth, a dust bag and a stable room are most of it. The rest is in Leather Care.
Packaging and gifts
Every piece leaves in a box made in Italy. Add a message at checkout and we write it by hand; a gift receipt on request.

Every Oberndörfer Milano piece is cut, stitched and finished by hand in ateliers around Milan, in full-grain leather from Italian, French and German tanneries.
